Woody Woodpecker Fire Truck, later known as Woody Woodpecker Fire Engine[1], is a 1998 coin-operated children's ride manufactured and released by British kiddie ride manufacturer, Jolly Roger (Amusement Rides) Limited. It is the second and final ride in Jolly Roger's Woody Woodpecker series of coin-operated kiddie rides, following 1995's Woody Woodpecker Aeroplane.
Originally released in May 1998, it is an enclosed, two-seater fire truck kiddie ride with rocking motion, music, two sound effect buttons, flashing strobe lights on top of the fire truck, flashing engine lights on the front of the truck, and two steering wheels for each individual rider to hold onto. While riding, up to two children assume the role of fire truck drivers, with figures of Woody Woodpecker and Chilly Willy riding on each side of the truck as assistant firefighters.
Characters[]
Songs[]
- Opening Theme Song, The Woody Woodpecker Show (1987) [main ride music]
- "Woody Woodpecker Theme", Woody Woodpecker Album [laugh sound effect only]
Notes[]
- Initially this ride was released with a Stamar System 2002 timer board, and featured three buttons - start, Woody's laugh, and a fire engine siren. Its attract mode sound is the same as the Woody Woodpecker Aeroplane, but is shortened to only the laugh portion, likely to accommodate the timer's EPROM file limitations.
- In 1999, the ride was re-released with a Sound Master timer containing an new audio track that plays fire engine startup sounds before and after the theme song, and sat on a new base. Its attract sound is a full, silent version of Woody's laugh.
- A third and final revision of the ride, released in 2001, used a Stamar System 4000 timer and is identical to the 1999 revision, though the audio is based on the original System 2002 variant. Its attract sound is only a silent, fast version of Woody's laugh.
- On the first pressing of the operator's manual, the copyright year is 1995, likely due to the licensing from Jolly Roger's previous Woody Woodpecker ride, the Aeroplane. The decal on the front of the ride shows a copyright date of 1998.
- Woody and Chilly Willy are modeled after their designs from the then-upcoming New Woody Woodpecker Show, instead of their short-lived 1994 redesigns used in the plane.
