The Case of the Maltese Chicken is the 9th animated cartoon short subject in the Inspector Willoughby series. Released theatrically on February 4, 1964, the film was produced by Walter Lantz Productions and distributed by Universal International.

Plot[]

Inspector Willoughby a chinese thieve stealed a green chicken and Willoughby tries to spot him tries to retrieve The Maltese Chicken from the evil oriental villain Egg Foo Yung.

  • Like most of the 60s and 70s Walter Lantz cartoons, this cartoon hasn't been released on DVD yet.
  • This cartoon has already aired on the Boomerang and SBT around the beginning of the 2000s, it has also aired once on Rede Globo in 2003, but from 2004, this cartoon never again aired on TV.
  • On May 20, 2018, an original audio of the short has been found by Recordo Obscura.
  • May possibly not air on TV as much anymore due to Chinese stereotyping.
  • MeTV aired an unreleased restored print of the cartoon on Saturday Morning Cartoons. It is also rare to have this cartoon air on MeTV, even though it has Chinese stereotypes.
