Paste Makes Waste is a 1968 short starring The Beary Family.
Plot[]
Charlie, all set for a day's golf game, is horrified to discover it is pouring rain outside. Bessie suggests that since he can't play golf, he can help wallpaper the house instead. Charlie reluctantly agrees but is generally inept at everything he attempts: breaking a chair, having trouble getting his ladder to stay up, getting hit in the face with a board, getting stuck behind a wallpaper strip, and dealing with his knuckle-brained assistant, Junior. Much to Charlie's surprise, it is sunny outside and a window is open but still raining outside. The "rain" is really a hose pouring over the doorway, a ruse Bessie used to get Charlie to stay home. Charlie goes to play golf anyway and is beset by a terrible thunderstorm.
Notes[]
- MeTV aired an unreleased restored print of the cartoon on Saturday Morning Cartoons. With this, all Beary Family shorts from 1962 to 1972 have all aired on the network.
- A very rare moment is shown in this cartoon. Bessie slams Junior's head into the bucket her head was in, all for making a simple joke. This is the only time Bessie strikes Junior other than Charlie, though he does strike him in this cartoon.
