Hickory and Dickory

Hickory and Dickory are the cartoon characters. In the 1959 Universal Studios theatrical short Space Mouse, producer Walter Lantz introduced three new cartoon characters: a cat named Dynamo Doc and two mice named Hickory and Dickory. Hickory, Dickory, and Doc appeared together in two more shorts, before Doc would be starring in other cartoons with Champ.

In the early model sheet, Hickory would be a dim-witted male in blue overalls. It is possible that the Lantz studio opted not to use the dumb-smart formula for Hickory and Dickory due to similiarities with Chuck Jones' mouse pair Hubie and Bertie from Warner Bros.
