Notes[]
- This episode is a reference to James Bond, with its title being a reference to the 1964 film Goldfinger. Wally Walrus' character, Gold Tusk (who shares his name with the episode's title), is also based on the film's antagonist, Auric Goldfinger.
- The title is also a pun on "gold rush".
- Chilly Willy can be spotted to follow the goldfish during the underwater scene. This is likely a reference to the anthology TV series The Woody Woodpecker Show opening in the 1980s.
- Winnie's character, Winnie Penny, is a reference to Monkey Penny from the Spy Fox games.
- On another note, her line "Told you so" is a possible reference to the 2011 film, Gnomeo and Juliet.
- Buzz's character, Le Buzzard, has a steel beak, a feature that is shared with Steelbeak from Darkwing Duck, who, in turn, is also similar to Jaws from the James Bond series. The only difference is that only the top portion of Le Buzzard's beak is made of steel.
- This could also be a nod to Steelbeak's appearance in the 2017 DuckTales series episode, "Double-O-Duck in You Only Crash Twice!", which is also based off of the James Bond franchise.
- Gold Tusk's line "I did not anticipate this outcome" may be a reference to (or a variant of) Hunter's catchphrase "I would not have predicted this" from Road Rovers.
