Freeway Fracas is the 135th animated cartoon short subject in the Woody Woodpecker series. Released theatrically in June 26, 1964, the film was produced by Walter Lantz Productions and distributed by Universal International.

Plot[]

The construction of a freeway threatens to destroy Woody's tree trunk home. Woody fights for the right to keep his home away from evil contractors.

  • Final Woody short under the "Universal International" banner and the final Walter Lantz cartoon under the banner.
  • Final cartoon to use Grace Stafford's first version of Woody's laugh. His next short would feature a new laugh performed by her.
  • The "Sid Marcus" direction letters in the opening are used instead of the "Paul J. Smith" direction letters.
